Real Life with a Touch of Sarcasm

My Favorite Things (January Edition).

  1. Smart Sweets
I actually get these from our grocery store because it’s cheaper than the website. I wish our grocery store carried more of them, but so far they only have these, and we’ve tried them all:
    • Peach Rings: I love these!
    • Sweet Fish: We loved these, but eventually started to get tired of them
    • Sour Blast Buddies: Still obsessed with these. They are so freaking good!!
    • Sweet Chews: These were disgusting. Seriously. Gross. We spit them out in the trash.
  2. Sheila G’s Chocolate Chip Brownie Brittle
Heaven in my mouth. That’s all I can say. I tend to buy more than one bag of this at a time so I know I won’t run out during the week.
  3. Zyia Leggings (& Underwear)
A friend of mine sells Zyia (I have linked to her account). Originally I had just purchased the underwear because I needed some after having a baby. Then I needed some leggings with pockets so I got some Light n’ Tights. I don’t know much about Zyia, but I do love it. If you have any interest in high-quality stuff, check it out! I would also be more than happy to pass along her information to anyone who would like to learn more! (At least until I decide to start selling it myself 🙂 )
  4. Propel Water
I love the Kiwi Strawberry and we both love the Mandarin Orange. The Berry, Grape and Peach are okay too. Justin liked the Black Cherry a lot. Neither of us really liked the Watermelon flavor
  5. Truly Beauty
I have something called Keratosis pilaris (aka Chicken Skin) on my arms. I don’t know if I’ve always had it, but I know it’s been there for at least my entire adult life. I have tried many different lotions and creams and so far none of them have really worked. Then I found Truly Beauty and so far, it’s working great! Plus, these two products smell really really really really freaking good! Like delicious summer-time watermelon. I will post some updated pictures after I have used them for a lot longer. They are pricey, but so far I think they are worth it.
    1. Hemp Jelly Anti-Blemish Body Cleanser
    2. Hemp Jelly Anti-Blemish Body Mask
  6. Tula Skincare
I found Tula from a girl I follow on Instagram. I’ve had some acne scarring on my chin for years that I keep trying to get rid of but nothing ever seemed to work. I saw amazing changes in her pictures so I decided to give it a try. I started with their cleanser + moisturizer for sensitive skin routine and I loved it. Then I moved to the Level 3 Acne Clearing Routine and it’s been amazing. The scarring on my chin is almost gone! The moisturizer ran out much quicker than the other products so I ordered the hydrating day & night cream which I am still waiting for it to arrive. If you want to try it, here is the link to Kassi’s instagram page where you can find her discount code. Once again, Tula is a bit pricey but I love it and I don’t think I’ll be giving it up anytime soon.
  7. Daycare
When we had talked about having kids, I originally wanted to be a stay at home mom. I didn’t like the thought of someone else kind of raising my kids. Well, financially we were not able to do that so we had to find a daycare that we liked (I’m not mentioning the name for privacy purposes). And then I also realized how…just exhausting babies were. Even though they don’t really do anything, just keeping them alive is a lot of work. Feeding them, changing diapers, tummy time, entertaining them. Oof. Silas loves daycare. And they love him (or so they say). It actually makes me feel so much better, because they went to school for raising kids. They are helping to educate him and help his brain grow. Plus, they use an app that notifies me during the day when they feed him and change diapers and when he takes naps. They can also send pictures and notes which is great!
  8. Insurance
I never really appreciated insurance until we had a baby… Enough said.
  9. Bumps to Babies Photo & Design by Samantha
She took our newborn pictures and they are amazing! If you’re in Kansas (or Nebraska), check her out! She has the magic touch with babies and I wanted to take her home with us. It also doesn’t hurt that she was my best friend growing up!
  10. Hello Bello
Thanks to the pandemic, I had really gotten used to most things being delivered to our door. I wanted to keep that up so when a friend recommended Hello Bello for our diapers, I jumped on it. Also, we both freaking love Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. It’s a subscription based diaper service, but they also have tons of other products. I will be trying their adult vitamins this next time. I get an email & text reminding me to update my bundle of diapers before they ship out so I can update the sizes and designs (which are so cute!!). A bundle is 7 packs of diapers which last for over a month and 4 packs of wipes.
