It’s been a few weeks since I have made a post. Let me catch everyone up on the past month.
We had Christmas…
Where I ate a rather large amount of caramel thanks to my 2nd mama and…
Watched my oldest niece play a game of basketball that my sister and b-i-l coached. We won! It was also incredibly entertaining watching them coach.
My sister also has the most ridiculously beautiful hand writing alive.
We had taken a few days off of work during which we went to a 9 a.m. showing of the new Star Wars movie at the IMAX theater. It was a great way to start the day.
We went bowling with some friends…
We had a few friends over for New Year’s Eve, where Justin made his Jungle Juice for the first time in 8 years. I have also now had enough alcohol for 2018. Holy crap. Becca and I were feeling it from the get go, took the guys a little bit longer to catch up.
I got a new planner that is going to keep me organized during this very busy 2018!
Justin made a delicious (and beautiful) cheat meal for us.
Some friends invited us over for a game night. Now, you might need a little background information.
Catch Phrase is a game we play in my family during most of our get-togethers, especially holidays.
If you have ever played Catch Phrase, you would know that at some point someone will be handed the game and it will buzz before they have a chance to say anything.
If I am on the team who can try to guess the answer, my default is always, and I mean ALWAYS, Susan B. Anthony. I always add the B. Every. Single. Time.
In all the years we have been playing Catch Phrase, Susan B. Anthony has never once, NOT ONCE, shown up. EVER.
Yup. That’s right. It finally happened. AND I DIDNT HAVE A CHANCE TO GUESS IT!
I almost cried.
Mostly because we were playing guys vs. girls and this happened….
Justin got it. I still can’t believe it. However, this also just proves that she is in there somewhere, which means that dear Susan B. Anthony will continue to be my default answer.
We are all caught up!
We are currently working out with our personal trainer (also named Justin) 5 days a week (which will help me fit into that bridesmaid dress currently hanging in my closet, and a bikini for Hawaii!).
And thanks to us working out every day, I am now a girl who wears leggings to work so I don’t have to change before we go to the gym. Saving time.
I am busy planning a Couple’s Shower, a Bridal Girl’s Day (so the younger bridesmaids can join in), and a crazy Bachelorette Party in Kansas City (for us older ones). Seriously. I am like the best Matron (ugh, horrible word) of Honor a girl could ever have! (beep beep!!) (That is me tooting my own horn for those of you confused)
And of course, we still have some co-rec sports going on. Right now we have a volleyball team. It ain’t real pretty. I got a girl’s team together for the spring season and that also probably won’t be pretty. But at least we will have fun. I would rather lose than not play at all.
I am very exciting because they have 6 on 6 soccer this summer and I already have a few people who want to play. It only took 29 years, but I will finally get to play soccer!! I have never played before and it will probably be a disaster, but who cares!? Not me! That’s who!
And if you haven’t seen it yet, you should really watch the new Murder on the Orient Express! It was so good!
Here is to a great 2018 for everyone!
