Saturday night was Justin’s office holiday party.

The theme was 1920s Casino Night.

I adore the 1920s.

Sadly, I didn’t really want to spend the money for an amazing costume.

Instead, Justin did the dressing up and I just went comfortably.

Dang that hat looks good!

It was a good time.

I have never been to a casino and I have never gambled.

What made it even better was the fact that it wasn’t real money!

However, now I really want to go to a casino and I really want to gamble!

I adore Blackjack!!!

There was tons of alcohol and fun toys at the party.

I also learned how to inhale helium from a balloon.

The Blue Moose.

A new restaurant opened up in Manhattan.

We ate at The Blue Moose in Topeka and loved it so I was really excited that one came here.

Friday night they had a “soft opening” and you had to make reservations.

I LOVE having reservations.

People kept trying to come in without them and they had to leave.

I felt important. Haha!

The drinks, food and service were great.

The timing was a little slow but I expected that.

All in all, it was a great time. Especially since everything was half price.

After dinner, we stopped by his office so he could show me his new digs.

With the new job he has, he moved from the 3rd floor to the 2nd.

One of the things I love about CivicPlus is the conference rooms.

I know it’s a little weird, but they are so cool!

They all have fun names.

On the 3rd floor, they are named after superhero locations.

On the 2nd……Game of Thrones!

Next, we went to see his brother Jason for game night.

Once again, I lost.

It was a fun evening.

The Library.

I love libraries.

I adore them.

I love the smell of books.

Especially old books.

I recently got a library card.

I love this book!

I love the pictures!

I love the diagrams.

So much of it is true.

If all you do is watch TV, eat and sleep, what kind of life is that?

Old Friends.

There are few things better than getting together with an old friend.

Tonight I had dinner with Cindy, a girl I went to school with.

We were almost college roommates but decided against it.

However, we did spend a lot of time together during college.

We haven’t really seen each other in about five years.

Five years.

That just seems crazy to me.

One of the great things about old friends is you don’t have to go over the small details.

We know each others families and our pasts.

We spent two hours holding a booth at Carlos O’Kelly’s hostage.

Talking, laughing, eating insane amounts of queso and drinking margaritas.

Catching up on the past and what we have missed.

It was one of the better nights I have had in a while.

Luckily, we pinky-promised to get together again in the new year.

I know there will be more laughter and girl time in our future.

So, old friends where ever you may be…send out a message. Make a call. Write a letter.

It’s so good to hear from you.
